Chateau Montelena Chinese Pavilion Photograph

I love visiting Chateau Montelena in Calistoga. Not only is it one of the oldest wineries in the valley but it has beautiful grounds to walk and enjoy. Jade Lake has a serene peaceful feeling anytime of year but is particularly beautiful in fall. The pavilions located on the islands are connected to the mainland by red and blue crooked bridges. The footbridges are crooked to honor the Chinese legend that evil spirites can only traverse water in straight lines.
