One of my favorite things at the Chicago Botanic Garden is this bronze statue of Carolus Linnaeus by Robert Berks in the Heritage Garden. Linnaeus (1701-1778) established binomial nomenclature, the international system of naming plants and animals that is still in use today. Now I didn't know anything about Linnaeus but this statue sure reminded me of a tree god or wind god from my imagination. I can see him blessing all the plants and flowers that grow in this precious beautiful garden.
