I am intrigued by spirals and especially spiral staircases.......the layers, the depth, and the beauty you find there. Almost like they tell a story and I can't wait to find out what is at the end, top or bottom and any surprises you might find along the way. This staircase is in the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon. After climbing all those stairs you are rewarded with a spectacular view, at 93 feet high, it’s the tallest lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. This is an active, working lighthouse with the original lens in place.
