On my drive across the United States my favorite stop was at Devils Tower in Wyoming. The energy of this Sacred Ground is palpable. I said a prayer for my new journey here and I believe that prayer is still guiding me. I had to look up why they called it Devils Tower because I have never been somewhere more misnamed. The National Parks Service say some Indians called it Mato Tipila, meaning Bear Lodge. Other American Indian names include Bear's Tipi, Home of the Bear, Tree Rock and Great Gray Horn. In 1875, on an expedition led by Col. Dodge, it is believed his interpreter misinterpreted the name to mean Bad God's Tower, later shortened to Devils Tower. I hope that one day you too get to visit this amazing natural wonder and feel it's spiritual energy.
