On my birthday one year I found the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple in Woodstock, Illinois. The monks had the best energy and this amazing 30ft Quan Yin Statue greets you at the door. Quan Yin is known as the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. She is the goddess with a motherly compassion, she who hears the cries of the people. A great protector and benefactor, her heart is full of deep compassion and unconditional love. Quan Yin or Kwan Yin is a well-known deity not only in China, but also in Korea, Japan, Malaysia, as well as with numerous Buddhism followers around the world.
